Bard's lvl 3 option College of Valor is in the Basic Rules so how come it isn't free and even after I subscribed it is NOT showing up - feeling a little ripped off.
1. Subscribing does not give you access to Subclasses - here is what the two subscriptions allow:
Hero Tier:
Removes Ads
Allows you to create an unlimited number of character slots
Allows you to save published, public homebrew
Grants you access to features in alpha (such as the Combat Tracker when it was first created)
Create unlimited encounters in the Encounter Builder
Access to monthly subscriber perks such as Character Sheet backdrops and Digital Dice.
Master Tier:
Allows you to share content you own on D&D Beyond with players in your campaigns (up to 3 campaigns of 12 players each)
Allows you to share all content owned by all players in a campaign you've enabled content sharing in, not just content you own.
2. College of Valor is not in the basic rules - the College of Lore is. The info is found here.
I will say in your defense, on that thread I've just linked, it does say 'At 3rd level, you delve into the advanced techniques of a bard college of your choice: the College of Lore or the College of Valor, both detailed at the end of the class description.' , however the College of Valor is not detailed like it states. Since D&D Beyond's creation however, there has only ever been one free Subclass per Class:
Barbarian - Frenzy
Bard - Lore
Cleric - Life
Druid - Land
Fighter - Champion
Monk - Open Hand
Paladin - Devotion
Rogue - Thief
Sorcerer - Draconic Bloodline
Warlock - Fiend
Wizard - Evocation
