Yep! And all the links just direct me to preorder AGAIN, but also tell me that I already own the content.

The issue is that a good many of us purchased that digital preorder because it specified early access was included at the time we ordered. For me, that was in February. There would have been no point in preordering at all if not for early access.
Yes completely agree. I've done the same. Why pre-order something digital if you're not getting early access? You could buy it on the day and it makes no difference. I'm so angry.
I'm content buying the physical copy cuz i would eventually when I see it in person, but why would the update prohibit early access still come on. This feels wrong.
Who do we contact in relation to false advertising? The marketplace did explicitly state on the digital only pre-order that early access would be made available to those who pre-order. It is the only reason I purchased the digital only version of the book (I prefer the alt cover which was not available for early access).
I am also a professional DM with StartPlaying and my players are all signed up to begin in a few days time. Not having the access which I purchased is going have additional financial impact.
holy moly, this is wild... It was communicated that preordering digital gave early access... I too (like very many) have pre-ordered for the purpose of early access...
I've seen on Facebook there are some people who have definitely pre-ordered BOTH and before the weird marketplace deadline and are also having the same issue so it COULD just be a tech thing, unless I've missed someone official in this thread saying otherwise.
Could these guys be any more clumsy and ham-fisted with releases. Confusing information, difficult to figure out, buggy ordering system. They need some serious help managing their releases, or did those staff get laid off?
So are we all sure this is what happened? I did the same thing. Pre ordered digital for the early access and man I'm bummed if this is the case. I remember it saying you get access to NotEE and EoR.... Extremely disappointing and confusing. At this rate they can keep the digital and I'll buy the physical.
Wait what was the point of pre-ordering then? Some shitty dice that you can’t tell the numbers on and a single oneshot? I’m pretty sure it said that preordering would give early access too. Only with wotc I guess.
Pretty disappointed. I bought the physical alternate copy, and was explicitly advertised that pre order got you early access. What is the point of pre ordering a digital copy then? Sure you get digital goodies, but the early access was the main reason all of us wanted this. The one shot is nice, but that is sold separately too so it’s not even an exclusive pre order bonus… so again, what was the point???
Pre ordered back in March and was excited for this to only just be drastically let down.
Although this early access period has traditionally been exclusive to digital versions, a new program is expanding the early access to apply to physical copies bought in local game stores. Vecna: Eve of Ruin is the first of theDungeons & Dragons 2024 releases to be distributed with this model, which incentivizes purchasing from smaller stores rather than major retail outlets. It's only applicable for in-store or pickup, so there's no way to get a physical copy through the mail early, but it's a big step forward for those who prefer to have their books on a shelf.
NOTE
Both the physical and digital preorders of Vecna: Eve of Ruin unlock the same bonuses.
In addition to the early access period and digital trinkets that are unlocked in D&D Beyond, preordering the new adventure book will also grant customers digital access to a special adventure called Vecna: Nest of the Eldritch Eye. This D&D Beyond-exclusive product is a single-session adventure, commonly known as a one-shot. This journey will prepare players for their fight against Vecna in Eve of Ruin, acting as something of a prequel to the new Dungeons and Dragons adventure book. Nest of the Eldritch Eye becomes available on April 16.
I, too, preordered under the pretense of early access. WotC really needs to be transparent regarding this issue ASAP. DMs such as myself, who recruited for campaigns based on early access, will bear the brunt of players' ire. I have players who have been reaching out on Discord all day, asking if we're good to go for Vecna. Sadly, I've had to tell them no so far.
Hopefully, this is just a digital preorder access issue and not another deceptive bait-and-switch type of situation.
WotC have already shown that they value profit over players, and they would sadly pull the trigger on having guaranteed money months in advance for nothing in return. This really is quite assanine, because there's nothing to be gained by not honoring a preorder promise.
Correct. Apparently, you would have had to order both the physical and digital editions to have access on May 7. Even more bizarre, it seems that early access on May 7 only applies to those who received the physical edition, hence giving them access to the campaign two weeks in advance. Sneaky AF.
Shame on WotC!

So no matter what, even if I buy the physical copy today I can't get early access because the marketplace update?
The issue is that a good many of us purchased that digital preorder because it specified early access was included at the time we ordered. For me, that was in February. There would have been no point in preordering at all if not for early access.
Agreed this was worded very poorly. BUNDLE ONLY was all that had to be said.

Still no access to the early access Eve of Ruin….

Y'all, we are not crazy. From screenrant: (and the link: https://screenrant.com/dnd-vecna-eve-ruin-release-preorders-price-info/ )
Disappointed as well, there are multiple instances that indicated that pre order got you early access. You should fix this DNDBeyond.
So, there was no point in pre-order? Sad.

The death of logic continues unabated...
I note that moderators and email support have both now gone silent on the issue…
