Cant select Assassin and Gloom Stalker Subclass

A player of mine was making a Rogue/Ranger and he is unable to pick the Assassin and Gloom Stalker Subclass, they are just not there, i checked myself and was positive the two options are not shown in the drop down window

i don't own the 2024 Players Handbook but I've purchased the extended rules pre 2024. Even with legacy and expanded rules selected i still cant build a gloom stalker or assassin. I have XgTe purchased and in my library, Horizon walker and monster slayer subclasses are listed in the dropdown but not gloom stalker... Any solutions?

Do I have to purchase the 2024 handbook to have access to subclasses I've already purchased?

is legacy content enabled and did they select the legacy version of the class?
