Character Builder: Level 5 Cleric is capped at 8 spells, but PBH says 9

Title.  Players Handbook 2024 says that Bards have 9 spells at level 5, but the character builder's capping me at 8.  
Edit: I said Cleric instead of Bard because I'm a goofball.

Hey thanks for the reply, Idk why I put cleric but I meant bard, I edited the original post.

I created the character just before 2024 rules dropped.  Do you have to make it over again to follow current standards?

Well, the same principle applies, actually - the 2024 Bard has 9 spells at level 5 but the 2014 Bard had only 8. Double check which version of the class you're using.

 Can you convert a character to the current rule set, or do you have to remake it?  I really appreciate the help, Wagnarokkr.

D&D Beyond allows you to make characters using either version of the class. If you made the character before the 2024 content was released, then it's using the old version of the class. D&D Beyond's character builder has them implemented as two different classes, essentially. If you go to the Class tab in the character builder and remove the old Bard class, you can choose the new one instead.

Note that if you do not own the 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond, some of your choices (subclasses, spells, etc.) will be limited to what's available in the 2024 Free Rules.

 

 I do own the 2024 version.  I didn't think that the version was tied to the class like that, but considering how it does that with spells it makes sense.  Thanks for the help, really solid of ya!
