I'm having some difficulty figuring out how to set an ability score increase for a custom race? So far I've tried several combinations of Modifier Types and Subtypes without any luck... I think I'm not really understanding the syntax applicable to a base score increase.
That still doesn't work. i put that in but it doesn't add anything in the scores part of the character builder
So you have selected the "Bonus" and then the ability score of your choice, for example "Wisdom Score". Have you then put the amount that it is increased by?
yeah this kind of doesn't work as intended, if you put fixed value = 1, it didn't seem to increase my wisdom score ( which was already a +1). when i put fixed value = 2, it made it a 2. but I just want a simple +1 to what I already have....
Yi had that issue and was because I had hard coded the attribute number when selecting attributes when I changed that it worked. Just open up character creator and look at your attribute selected.
Open up the character builder and go to the attribute and if there is anything in the override score field remove it and set the attribute with points and bonuses. The override score ignores all modifiers. Just make sure that's blank.
I am experiencing a similar issue to the one listed at the top, except that i want to give this race a -2 in a stat (charisma to be exact) what do i click to achieve this?
Please link your affected homebrew and the character you're trying to use it on (direct URL from the address bar, not the share link). It does not need to be published for a moderator to access the link.

Sorry. It did finally work. I had a space in one of the other fields.

Thanks, helped a lot when I was making my Hombrew Content. :D
That's because the above instructions are to increase the Ability Score, not the Ability Modifier. You have to increase the score by 2 in order to increase the modifier. Using the same example that Support provided above would increase a wisdom score from 12 => 14, which would only change your wisdom modifier from +1 => +2.
How would one increase two ability scores that are not listed. Example, I'm wanting a player to choose to increase an ability score by 2. Either Strength or Charisma.
But there is no Choose One: Strength or Charisma option for me to select.
Hi,

Would very much appreciate some help. :)
The Modifier type is 'Bonus', while the subtype is '[Ability] Score' (Strenght score, Wisdom score and so on).
Thank you very much!!

Where do we put in the amount to increase by, and what EXACTLY do we type in if we want a +1 increase in that score?

did you find the answer to this? I cannot figure it out either.

so whats the solution?

Done exactly as in your screenshot. Doesn't work.

I don't think they have an option for that (yet). The next best thing would be to make two sub-races, each with one of those options.
