In a game I am starting up there are numerous items that the players want which are not listed in the d&d beyond items, such as a clarinet as an instrument or a custom shortsword that is not magical but different stat-wise. Are there any plans for a non-magic item creation tool in the near future or any current ways to create non-magic items with d&d beyond?
Ah, I see - there isn't currently a way for you as a DM to add custom skills to the game to be selected by backgrounds, however .... you can go to the skills tab on the character sheet and add custom proficiencies.

D&D Beyond FoundersThey can list any mundane equipment that they like on their character sheet under equipment on the "other possessions" tab. :)

Thanks, but is there any option to say add the clarinet as an instrument they are proficient in that can be chosen when creating a character?
