Wraps of Unarmed Power can't be searched for in the manage inventory tab in the character sheet and can't be added to the inventory.
Do you own the book they come from, the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide? Or have access to it through content sharing in a campaign?

One other thing that could be causing the issue, if you searched for something specific, you might not have gotten it because the only things in the character builder are the +1, +2, and +3 versions, not the generic thing.

when i search "shortsword" or something like that the appropriate weapon comes up but not for the wraps.
I ended up just making a homebrew wraps of unarmed power with the same features as the normal one and that worked.

There is no such thing as a "shortsword of unarmed wraps of power" as they are not a weapon, they just increase your to hit bonus

You definitely have the 5.5 Core Rules enabled in your Character Builder?
The alternate in 5e is the Wraps of Unarmed Prowess from the Book of Many Things.
I think they meant "shortsword" finds Shortsword, +1.
