These are the contents of the 5e version of the "Explorer's Pack" item. Are you sure you (or perhaps the DM?) didn't add one of those to the inventory? Maybe by accident?
I am the DM and no, no Explorer Pack was added. Additionally the items in question were put into a customized container which couldn't happen with an Explorer Pack since a container can't be put inside another container.
For further context, the character is being created ahead of the start of a campaign and there are currently no PC-only characters associated with the campaign, just a pair of DM created/controlled characters at present so no one else could have gone in and created, added or moved items.

The explorer pack isn't a container. It's just a preset list of items to easily add them all and has a gold discount.
There's only two ways this happens:
A dev went into your sheet and added the items for the fun of it.
or
You added them accidentally perhaps by adding the explorer's pack and not realised (possibly through a background?)
Occam's Razor suggests the latter.
In any case. Just remove the items you don't want. If it keeps happening, raise a Support Ticket by clicking Contact Us at the bottom of the page.

Ticket generated then. This the second time I've had a character suddenly have items added to a container. Also, the Explorer's Pack is a preset list of equipment which includes a container, specifically a backpack, which would prevent the contents from getting put into the container (a Sack) where they were appearing.
Also, whilst Occam's Razor is a worthwhile approach, the oft paraphrased approach does not always deliver the correct answer. In this case, the character's background is a home-brewed background which wasn't changed and doesn't contain an Explorer's Pack, or any of the other bulk/general equipment packs. It is just that the contents of a Legacy Explorer's Pack, minus the Backpack itself, suddenly appeared in a renamed Sack in the character's inventory.
I have had the same issues happen. While I don’t remember the specific items, I know they were all legacy. I haven’t ran i to that problem for a while and was hoping it was solved. I guess not.

Thanks for this. The first time I noticed it, it was again some Legacy items which appeared in an Alms box of all things, I don't recall all of the 'extra' items but I do remember specifically legacy ball bearings being included. I ended up deleting that character and scrubbing the campaign all whilst thinking I might have added the items accidentally. Having this happen a second time, and again with equipment that I would not have added to a character's inventory is what flagged it for me. The fact that I wasn't able to replicate the issue the way people suggested it might have happened, e.g. adding an Explorer's Pack into a character's inventory loads the legacy inventory items into a backpack which is added to the inventory, but does not load the just the items themselves into another container, led to making a Bug report.
What class and background does this character use? Do either of those include an Explorer's Pack? If they used the sheet's starting equipment function, all those would indeed be added in their own container.

The class is Wizard, background is a homebrew background, neither of which includes an Explorer's Pack. The Starting Equipment issued was 105 GP, no equipment. The appearance of the Legacy equipment occurred well after character creation, after other equipment had been collected. The 'extra' equipment appeared in a sack which had been renamed Galen's Sack. I checked using an alternate character what would happen if an Explorer's Pack (2024 PHB and Legacy 2014 PHB versions) was added using the Inventory Manager to a Sack after character creations. In both tests, the Explorer's Pack was added as a new container (Backpack) with the rest of the Explorer's Pack contents appearing inside the newly added backpack, and nothing was added into the Sack where I tried to insert the explorer's pack.

I have a character who had several additional items suddenly appear in one of the containers that the character isn't actively carrying.
The 'extra' items were as follows:
total additional weight of 49 lbs. Anyone else suddenly have the Character Builder just add items on it's own?
