I also wanted to add a few more thoughts to motivate anyone from the WotC side to take these kind of matters more seriously! Hey product owners this is for you! :D
When I was working my master's dissertation I came across many publications about gaming and the importance of keeping your users engaged with your app in order to increase the likelihood of getting revenues.
If one explores the skeleton of the logic path it goes like this: User finds more ways to engage with the app ---> Stays longer about ---> Time investement increases the likelihood for purchases.
Even though homebrew system does not generate direct revenues (at least not yet and hopefully ever), in my humble opinion it is a very inexpensive way to enrich the Dungeons & Dragons Beyond application with more ways to keep the community invested.
I am just trying to add some more reasons for audiences that can pull strings in the background! :D Please forgive my rant!
