Magical connoisseur

With the new magical connoisseur feat, it puts the spell on your spell list at the appropriate level but it will not let you up cast the spell even though in the description it states that you can cast it using a spell slot. Is this intended to be locked into first and second level spells only or can you up cash these spells as they are placed on your spell list?

You cast the spell using the integrated buttons and mark the spell slot off manually

Originally all spells had automatic spell slot marking, but people asked for it to be removed
