I think that toggles or selections add complexity, but why is there not a single place I can type a note? Just add a tab titled "Public" and give me a text box. Even if it only showed 50 or 100 characters with a "...", that would still let me disclose information. I can take it from there.
Instead, my character has a custom item under SKILLS that reads "Note: image "Mirkwood Elf Archer" by CJ Isherwood is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0" because I do not see a better way to comply with the license in good faith. :-(
I hope I remember to delete the skill if I export the sheet...
New user here. I was really bummed when I found out that we can't share our character descriptions to other players in our group. I have very hard time understanding the logic behind this – but I understand there should be a secret place of information as well. If selectable toggling of information is not possible (selections would be "only me" – "me and DM" – "me, DM and party members" – "public"), there should be description available for others, one tab for DM and one for just the player.
Very late to the party but there's another issue with this whole "hiding details" thing that I haven't seen mentioned.
I roleplay with a lot of DMs off site, but build a lot of my sheets on DnD Beyond because it's a lot easier than other sheet building sites out there. Issue arises though when I try linking my sheet to my DM, and now suddenly THEY can't see my full sheet either despite being my DM. The only workaround I've found is to share the PDF but it often cuts content out of the backstory if it gets too long and the layout in general is just way clunkier than it is on site.
So yeah, not only is this just a secrecy issue, but it's also an issue for offsite DMs who can't see the important information their players are trying to impart on them. It should be toggleable, or at the very least a second link should be generated to share full sheets with DMs.
That's dumb. It isn't hard to implement and just makes everything a hassle. If something isn't meant to be shared, then they should just send it to the DM in private.
It's my hope that WoC adds staff and $ to address things like this in a timely manner. Toggles are a more ideal solution for more of the currently hidden information imo, but physical descriptions should be public regardless.
Agreed. Still looking for this. When players are not present, other players use their sheets and can't see any of the notes they need to see. Why is this still not resolved 5 years later?
Why not just make it so that when you link your character sheet you can pick different types of links showing varying levels of the sheet?

Came here for this. Yes, pain in the butt not being able to share this info I spent time composing. Just toggle it.
Let us toggle it! Or just have it similar to the campaign where there are public and private notes. That way there is no toggle.
This thread was posted in 2018, and still nothing has been done about this. >>>:(
Came for the same. Give us a toggle please

Please fix this bug
