I am currently building a character that is a Hermit. The PHB says that a Hermit is proficient with a Herbalism Kit, but the character builder instead has a tools dropdown that contains everything but an herbalism kit
The Hermit background automatically receives proficiency with a herbalism kit, which is why it isn't on the list for you to select perhaps?

If you're not seeing it on the list though, that is because your character already has this proficiency - possibly from race or class.

Ah, that makes sense. I was making a druid, so I already had herbalism kit, and it was giving me another kit. Thanks!
