I pre-ordered Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and the description said:
Pre-ordering on D&D Beyond will grant early access to adventure portraits, character frames, character sheet backdrops, and theme colors.
So when do these become available? It says "early access"... does that mean 1 day before release? I don't think I will bother pre-ordering anything in the future.
The adventure portraits, character frames, character sheet backdrops & theme colors will become available, to those who pre-ordered, when the product is released.
The "early access" is perhaps not a great way of phrasing this - what it means is that by pre-ordering you will gain access to these on release and there isn't any other way to gain access to them currently.
It is possible that the portraits/themes etc will be made available to others, but not until at significant time after release of the product (around 12 months).
Thank you for the clarification Storm. I preordered everything I didnt already own last week and was wondering why I couldnt use the new backgrounds. Its worded differently between the Ravnica release and the DotMM release, so I assumed I would have access to the stuff from DotMM, but not Ravnica.
