As far as I know the primordial language option has disappeared and can no longer be selected.
If you have it already because big a racial trait or class feature, it won't show up as an option to select.
I tested with a human rogue, I can select it with the Sage background.

D&D Beyond FoundersPrimordial language is still there and selectable by any character that gets to choose a language.
If you're not seeing it in a selection list, it's almost certainly because that character already knows the primordial language.

I tried to create a Simic Hybrid race just now and took the Sage background, the primordial language isn't present in the language drop down. I'll look again and send a screen shot.
I'm wrong, you can close this. Storm sorcerer does gets the language, and I missed that. Sorry for the false alarm.
