Inside of your feature you'll want to go down to "Actions", and create a new action. While entering the details for your action you will also enter the Reset Type, for which you could choose a Long Rest or Short Rest. Then, once you have saved the action with these details you can open it back up. Because you selected a reset type, a new section at the bottom called Limited Use will appear. You can create that to determine how many uses they get of the feature.

I figured that part out. What I am trying to add is a Action (Destroy/turn undead for clerics) that boosts the AC of a character by 2 for 4 hours and is 1 use per day.
As it sits i have a permanent boot to AC instead of a temporary limited use boost
I have found bits and pieces of it all but I cant seem to get it all together
Ah, I understand. My apologies for misunderstanding.
The character sheet does not support temporary effects as you describe. Similar effects are Barbarian Rage, or the Mage Armor spell. Temporary effects are on the long-term road map to implement, but currently are not an option.
The way I work-around it for my characters with important temporary effects is that I make an item for the effect with all of the relevant modifiers. Then when I activate it, I can just equip the item to reflect the changes.
I didn't know the correct wording for what I was trying to say, and it took me 3 hours of futzing around and following instructions before I figured it out with MellieDM's help. My apologies if I offended you with incorrect wording and only knowing the destination and not the route.
Next time try describing your problem more completely. The more information you give upfront, the faster people can give you the answer you are looking for.
I'll do my best to describe what I dont know how to describe
Well, like in this case you could have said: "I'm trying to make an effect with limited uses per long rest that grants +2 AC for 4 hours (really?), but the AC boost is permanent. How do I make this work?"
This gives us enough information to know what the problem is and what to tell you. You did eventually mention this info too, but only after your initial question was answered and it wasn't the cause of the problem.
"Reset Type" no longer exists in the custom actions tab.
Was that functionality removed since this original post? Which is a bummer, because I have a cool new magic item I'd like to have a [x]/LR tracker for!
They were adding an action to a homebrew subclass feature, not making a custom action. I don't think the Custom Action interface has had "reset time" available.

Gotcha. Shoot! I have the ability to cast Identify x3/LR, but as a Cleric, I can't just add the spell to my list or have buttons like for my Lucky feat.

Ah well!

How do you add an action that requires a rest to homebrew. Like a cleric using destroy undead. certain amount of uses before a long rest?
Hi Wannakooki!
Inside of your feature you'll want to go down to "Actions", and create a new action. While entering the details for your action you will also enter the Reset Type, for which you could choose a Long Rest or Short Rest. I hope that helps!
Is that in the homebrew customization menu/
That's correct.

If the problem was not how to add limited uses, why was the question hoe to add limited uses?
