Having an issue with a shitty player going through and reading everyone’s personal backstories and then bringing up in game ruining what people want to keep secret but still want it listed in the app so that I can view and help develop with them.
how can I stop one player from reading another’s sheet without kicking them from the campaign?
The notes fields aren't shared - whilst other players in a campaign can see your stats/gear/spells, they should not be able to see any of the description or notes fields.
Only the DM and the owner of the character should be able to see these areas
Character sheets can be set to private. Only the DM and owner will be able to view them then. (Name, gender, race, and class will still be listed on campaign page).
If you are doing what I'm doing, which is having all of your players log into your d&d beyond account, which then gives them all access to all your characters, there isn't much to do, except force all of them to create their own d&d beyond accounts, and then you can give them their characters, and if they're set to private, he cannot do so.
If they already have their own accounts, what is listed above as putting them as private should do the trick.
Otherwise, I boot the character if they have been warned and continue to do things like this. That is a problem player, that if they continue to act in a way that the table deems inappropriate and continue to do so, they would not be allowed back at my table.
