I'm having a similar problem that when I try to put a character in a campaign it will put a different one I made a copy of that one and deleted it. I tried again but it just changed the character it also won't let me join with more than one character, so I can't just join then put the other character in there. There are only 6 characters in the campaign.
If you're on your profile page, you're trying to claim a character for a campaign and you're getting the "There was a problem joining the campaign with this character" error, try this:
Create a new character for that campaign. Just make a bard or something. You know you always wanted a bard. Once created, use the link from the character sheet (Or profile menu/campaigns/your campaign) to go to the campaign landing page. Claim the character you wanted to claim. DELETE THE BARD.
I made a campaign and then 3 characters. Only one character shows up on my campaign page but all three show on my Characters page. There does not seem to be instructions on how to connect my players to the characters I have built. Can anyone give me some directions on how to do that? Thanks, David

Are you wanting the players to claim the characters you made, or will the players be making their characters themselves?
If you have made the characters, first add them all to your campaign. To do so, click “copy link” next to the invite link in the upper right of the campaign page, and paste it into the url bar for your browser and hit return. Once you’ve added them, click the "unassign” button on the character “card” on the campaign page. Then send players the invite , and let them know who is to claim which chacarcter.
if they are making their own characters, just send them the invite link.

I have 15 characters in my campaign and 9 users and I have one user who is not able to join the campaign.
Shrug.
