I have noticed that the spell slot calculations are off. I am running several spell casters and am always having issues due to the spell slots not being correct. Particularly with clerics and their domain spells.
For example My 6th level Tempest domain Cleric has 4 first level 3 second level and 3 third level slots. He also has the following spells always prepared : Fog Cloud and Thunderwave (1st level), Gust of Wind and Shatter (2nd), and Call Lightning ans Sleet Storm (3rd).
So By RAW I should have a total of 16 spells in my arsenal each day. and be able to prepare 10 of my choosing each day. yet for some reason D&D Beyond keeps limiting me to 4 first, 3 second and 1 third level spell. Cutting me off from two spells each day. This isn't the only time this has popped up, but I can't figure out why.
As a note, I can alter this by unpreparing lower level slots to prepare more higher level slots, but I'm still not getting my full number of spells.
My first guess is that some homebrew is interfering. Do you have anything homebrewed for this character - an item, a feat, subrace, etc? If yes, does turning it off change anything?
You prepare the list of cleric spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the cleric spell list. When you do so, choose a number of cleric spells equal to your Wisdom modifier + your cleric level (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
I hope that helps clear this up!

What the hell were WotC thinking... That screws Clerics/Druids for spellcasting. And no other primary caster is so limited in this fashion. This after they nerfed the Turn Undead ability, makes me angry about clerics in particular.

On the contrary. Clerics, druids, and wizards can prepare MORE spells than bards, sorcerers, and warlock can know. And that isnt even counting always prepared spells granted by subclasses. Not to mention that prepare casters can change their spells each day to fit what they need instead of only at level up.
Clerics actually have the most spell options available of any class (some druid subclasses match it). Only the Wizard can rival it but only with its ability to cast rituals without preparing them.

Hi there,
I think you may have confused spell slots with spell preparation.
As you stated, the Cleric Table shows your 6th level cleric has the following spell slots:
4x 1st level
3x 2nd level
3x 3rd level
The rules for Clerics for Preparing and Casting Spells state:
I hope that helps clear this up!

Wizards prepare Intelligence + Wizard Level in the exact same way Clerics prepare Wisdom + Cleric level so I don't know what you mean.
