Still a problem. Been more than 5-years. We should be able to add as many cantrip as the DM will allow.
You can.
Just make a feat to add whatever cantrips you want, and add the feat to the character. Problem solved.

Im playing a paladin with dm permission i homebrewed a feat to give me the thaumaturgy cantrip. I just added the cantrip with add spells in the feat and left all other categories blank and it wont show up in my spells on the character sheet. I tried a few things in the spells section after that such as where it ask class selecting paladin, checking infinite uses and i still cant seem to get it to show up on the character sheet. Any advice or suggestions?
Im pretty much the person that attempts to put our homebrew stuff on dnd beyond, and while i can figure out most things that can be done, what you cannot do is very frustrating and the limitations are not always obvious.
Go to Character. Go into Character Builder. Ensure Homebrew is enabled.
Go to Character Sheet.
Features & Traits > Feats > Manage Feats
In sidebar that opens scroll down to bottom for the Homebrew section. Add your feat.

The cantrip will show up in Spells on sheet.
Have tested (repeatedly, been doing this same thing for years and again just now) and confirmed process works, if steps followed correctly.

Hey all,
For my game I'm running my party have gotten to a spot where I'm thinking of granting them a free cantrip each that is thematic to their character.
Is there anyway to add the cantrip to their spell list other than making a custom action on the actions tab?
Thanks
GXS
Hi GXS, I would recommend creating a feat for each player that grants them the cantrip you're choosing. Hope that helps!
Why not just make it so we can add spells if we need to?
it's still a problem lol
