Using the item editor, is it possible to add additional spell slots to a character? I'm using the Ancestral Weapons doc from DMs Guild for two of my players, one of which I want to give the Spell Link effect to.
I've not found any way to do it, but I could have missed something (or it's not where I'd think of looking for it).
Hello Geztyr! There is not currently a way to add additional spell slots to a character. This thread is a great place to request homebrew modifiers you'd like to see.
Since it is a magic item perhaps you can use charges instead. If the item would grant a single slot of a level, have 1 charge to item and description to say the user can spend that charge to cast a spell they know at the intended slot level without having to use a spell slot. It does the same thing in the end and yo can even add a note to say Sorcerers could expend the charge to get the sorcery points etc.
Or you could say add multiple charges, like 5 charges, and say when users are casting a spell they can substitute charges for levels - so it could cast a 5th level spell, or they could use it for casting a 2nd and 3rd level spells.
Not quite as intended but it'll work for your purposes.

Is there a way to add spell slots from the sorcerer temporary spell slots ability?
Not at this time. The most you can do currently is untick a used spell slot, which doesn't cover the case of, say, making a new 1st-level slot when you haven't used any, but it's what's available to do at this time.

I would like this ability as well. Not sure why the current class limits have to be so hard wired into the program. There are lots of situations where being able to Homebrew an additional spell slot would reflect what is happening in the game.
Time for another question for the hive-mind:

Thanks in advance!

Was already thinking about this. Just wanted to check if I was missing something first.

After BG3 I think it's time to revive this thread. I mean, this feature would be really cool to be able to add for an item)
