The Bard Jack of All Trades feature adds half proficiency to "any ability check you make that doesn’t already include your proficiency bonus".
Initiative is a Dexterity check, so Jack of All Trades should add to it, but Bard characters with the feature only show their regular Dexterity bonus for their initiative on the character sheet.
This may have already been fixed, because one of the things I came here to report was that my bard had too high an initiative bonus. I never realized before your post that initiative checks counted for Jack of all Trades!
Yeah, Initiative is just a Dexterity check, so both Jack of All Trades and Remarkable Athlete boost it (and they should stack, which I will go check now).
I don't see this working yet. I created a Fighter 7/ Bard 3 with Dex 20. Their initiative bonus should be +9 -- +5 from dexterity, +2 from Jack of all Trades, +2 from Remarkable Athlete. It only shows +4.
Starting at 2nd level, you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that doesn’t already include your proficiency bonus.
Remarkable Athlete:
Starting at 7th level, you can add half your proficiency bonus (round up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn’t already use your proficiency bonus.
From the highlighted sections I'm not sure that they should stack because when you apply one of them to the ability check you are now using your proficiency bonus which prevents the other being used. What should happen instead (but isn't) is that the larger of the two is applied which will happen as Jack of All Trades rounds down while Remarkable Athlete rounds up.
I have created a Bard 5/Fighter 8 with 20 Dex. Proficiency is +5 but Initiative is +7 not +8 as expected.
Interestingly when creating as a Fighter 8/Bard 5 with 20 Dex the Initiative bonus is +5, which suggests that Remarkable Athlete is not calculating properly but is preventing JoAT from applying.
It looks like you add in the modifier to initiative for JoAT per Jeremy Crawford. Thanks.
The issue isn't if JoAT applies to initiative; that's clear from the rules. The issue is if both JoAT and Remarkable Athlete apply to initiative, or if only the single larger bonus does.
Jack of All trades makes your proficiency bonus apply to your Dexterity checks for Initiative, so Remarkable Athlete wouldn't then also apply. Same the other way around even though Remarkable Athlete only applies part of your proficiency bonus, because that still is "using your proficiency bonus".
So if you have a character that has both those traits, you technically choose which one applies to your initiative checks... though I'm not sure why you'd not choose Jack of All Trades.

You'd not choose Jack of All Trades because it's half-rounded-down and Remarkable Athlete is half-rounded-up. See the excerpts above.

That's right, I just brain-farted and was thinking one was full proficiency bonus and the other was 1/2 proficiency bonus. I even just read them... I probably should go back to bed and start the day over.

Yep Remarkable Athlete is the way to go @ 7th round up my good chaps round up 👍
Bumping this, not seeing JoAT adding to my AC...
JoAT is not supposed to add to your AC.
