I purchased the D&D Essentials kit and it has a code that says 'unlock the digital version of the Dragon of Icespire Keep" I entered the code but all I see is stuff to buy. How do I get the digital version?
Hello ThainTheRanger, welcome to D&D Beyond! There will be two codes in your physical box. One is for the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure, and three follow-up adventures. You'll enter that code here. Once redeemed you'll have access to those adventures when you choose them from the mega-menu above (Sources -> Adventures -> Choose the adventure you want!) and you can also download them for offline use on our D&D Beyond mobile application. You can redeem that code here.
The other code is a coupon code that can be redeemed when purchasing the Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond for a 50% discount. You can use this after you've added the Player's Handbook to your cart in the Marketplace.
I hope that helps, please let me know if we can offer any additional assistance.
Thank you. That was very helpful and I am there now. For a first timer it was not very intuitive. Entering the code was easy, but it doesn't tell you where to go once you unlock the content. All good now. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
So I am having a similar problem trying to gain access to my content as well.
When I plugged in my key to redeem the digital copy of Icespire from the essentials box I was directed to a web page that was a text list of resellers some codes that look like memory address lines and their webpage addresses. Here's a snippet from the very top of the page;
So, I found this thread and downloaded the app for my phone and located the digital content and downloaded it. Now what? I can't find the content anywhere on my phone.
So I figured it out. The app defaults to a view that only shows content you haven't downloaded yet. I switched the view to only content that has been downloaded and found my content.
I also feel like things could be more intuitive. Being re-directed to that site with all the text was a WTH moment. Then having to figure stuff out is also frustrating. Additionally, I've been looking for maps for a Fantasy Grounds campaign I'm about to run and I have been flustered at the lack of results from wizards. After not finding any store items here for digital maps, I went looking elsewhere. I ended up at Paizo. Great Maps! But on the expensive side about 4.50 and up per map. Then I ended up at drivethrurpg. Even there, I struggled to find what I wanted. So, I ended up buying 4e encounter modules just so I could get the maps. These were a way better value because I was also getting the encounter content which I can tweek to 5e. I know it's not cheap to make a store and keep it running, but man I wish I could come to wizards.com and buy digital content like maps as I CAN at Paizo. As it stands, they'll be getting my money for digital content.
There should be a double-sided piece of paper somewhere inside the Essentials Kit box that has codes on it. One side will have the text Welcome Adventurer! in the top left, along with images of various books and box sets, and the other side will have a box in the bottom left with the D&D Beyond logo, 3 QR codes, and codes for both the digital version of the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure and 50% off the digital version of the Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond.

I'm glad I was able to help! Thank you very much for the feedback on your experience with the UI in locating your content.
so how do you download the digital copy?
You need to download the D&D Beyond app (for Android or iOS) which allows you to access your digital content offline.
Find my D&D Beyond articles here
Though the app is not in the google playstore.
I can assure you it is, at this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curse.dndbeyond&hl=en_GB

I just bought the essentials kit from target and I don’t find a code either…
I just watched an unboxing video and the piece of paper in my kit did not have codes on the back it only had more advertisement.
