When trying to pick the bonus feat for the variant human on PC, the only options presented were Grappler and Svirfneblin Magic.
For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription.
This seems really odd to restrict since the basic rules reference the PHB directly to find more. Makes choosing a Variant Human pretty worthless. Big oversight in my opinion for people who are looking to use your service, but have not committed yet.
@Tarnega I disagree. Just for building a character and choosing feats and other options that are available to DDAL players. Not saying they should have access to read or reference the PHB. As a free user you can build 6 characters, but not really, because you can't use feats. So its really you can build 6 characters with a huge asterisk.
Also @filcat why are races that are not in the basic rules available to choose when building a character? Seems strange to include that "non-free" material but not the feats.
In the end you guys choose whatever you want to do. However, in my opinion you're missing out on an opportunity to highlight your service by restricting the 6 characters partially.

See my first post in this thread. There are three sources of free material. The races you mention are in the Elemental Evil Companion (free material from WotC).
It is not a matter of doing what one wants to do (which is false in this case) or missing opportunity. There are legal obligations in play here. DDB can't give for free copyrighted material.
Incorrect. As the sheet integrates the choices, the effects are produced when chosen while creating / editing a character. That, in and of itself, is giving access to the content. It's why autocalculating sheets are illegal without licensing agreements.

Non-free material can't be implemented for free users.
That's like saying DDB should pay for everyone's PHB so it can be free...
