I have been on D&D Beyond doing some character gen just to see functionality. I tried to create a multi-class that had odd numbers. (17/3) With that level combo, it did not give me the last attribute bonus. I thought the attribute bonuses were based on character level, not class level, am I wrong or is this a bug?
Attribute bonuses are awarded as part of a specific character class.
As an example, if your character was Fighter 3, Wizard 3, Cleric 3, Rogue 3 - your character would be level 12, but would not have had a single attribute increase, as the first one of these is gained at level 4 on each of those classes.
Yes, the ability score increase is a class feature, not a character feature.
