It is annoying, true. But your anger isn't going to solve the problem any faster. Also while I will not try to imply that your rage is impotent in anyway, I've been a paid member for quite sometime and this is the first problem of this kind that the site has suffered while I've been using it. Most of the time the site is fantastic for game and making characters. Plus they've already assured us that they don't think this is a hack. However, if you really want a refund I'm sure their customer support would be more than happy to speak with you.
my problem is that every time i try to use it to play the website is extremely slow and takes forever to load anything, or like i had yesterday it wouldn't load at all for 2 hours. now this problem accessing the character sheets. i have a very limited time to play and multiple hour long delays kill the game for me and my group who have all taken time and put our busy lives aside for this.
We have 3 of our 5 that use D&D Beyond for our character sheets and almost can't play - our DM is livid and doesn't like us using digit sheets anyway. Please fix ASAP.
I guess this is a lesson in saving the PDF of the sheet before a game. Most of the time it's not an issue, and luckily I don't have a game going on today, but I'll for sure be exporting my character sheet from now on a few days before my next session. If your DM is really that upset about this, maybe just guess on your stats, I'm sure you'll be close enough, and at least you can play.
I actually can't access the character creator at all. I've tried in two different browsers but I keep getting error messages. Perhaps this is a larger issue than my two existing characters.
It's annoying is what it is. Must be a website issue, rather than an account one. Otherwise it wouldn't be happening to multiple people Wonder what it is?
I'd like to add my voice to the ones asking for a post mortem/technical report (whatever you can share) about the issue. It seems like your dev team should have redundancy and disaster recovery strategies to mitigate incidents like this.
What is DnD Beyond's policy regarding outages and compensation? We pay a lot of good money for this to affect our ability to play hold sessions with our players.
My DM is the one who bought the books and put us on Beyond. It's still a great App, and it's not like this hasn't happened to every other game program from time to time. Though, we're going to keep saved PDF copies, just in case, from now on.
You'd think with all the income they receive from making people buy digital copies of books they already own they'd be able to properly maintain their website... I'm starting a brand new campaign today and we've been waiting for 2 hours to access our characters..

Can we request a root cause explanation once the issue is resolved? Thank you for your help and support!
As a representative from the Product/Development team, I can assure you that one will be done and we will let you all know as much as we can about what happened, how we fixed it, and how we plan to make sure that it doesn't happen again in the future.

Nobody forced you to buy digital versions of the books. WTF?
There is a ton of other sites and apps that allow you to make a character without having to buy a thing. You weren't obligated to spend money on this site.

Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our Authentication check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.
Try again after a Short Rest.
The plot thickens...
