I have a few homebrew items that I've created and tried to add them while playing with the character builder/editor. The "Add Item" feature seems to be unable to locate homebrew items in my collection. I checked the "Include Homebrew" toggle on the character home page and found that it was active/true/on. Am I missing something or is this a bug?
I'm having the same exact problem, box checked and everything. I feel like I'm missing something but I've got no clue what it is, and I haven't gotten a lot of help.
When adding items to the character sheet, "proficient" -checkbox is checked by default (for some reason), so you can not see items you are not proficient with. Removing the checkbox allowed me to find the custom item.
02Dec2018, I've just finished building a homebrew item and have run into the same issue. Unable to find it via Add Item with Proficiency checked or unchecked. Anyone have an update to this?

I am Having same issue a made sure boxes were checked/unchecked very disappointed.
Can you describe your issue more specifically, what kind of item you're trying to add, and perhaps link the affected homebrew? (Moderators will be able to see your unpublished homebrew).
Items available from the magic item Homebrew maybe I'm doing something wrong but I have a whole campaign ready to go now unsure how to add it to there items on the character sheet.

Are you trying to add an item you have created? Are the characters in your campaign?
I appreciate your fast response I work long hours during the week the item I wanted to add was a magic item available from the Homebrew section I haven't made a magic item yet. The players are in my campaign I am also new to the D&D beyond. The item I tried to add was a Hew Axe.
I'm actually having this same problem. My players can't access any of the homebrew feats and items. As DM, I've gone into their pages and tried adding them to their characters, but nothing is even listed for them, yet everything is listed in my homebrew collection section.

You're very welcome! Stormknight is quite correct on their response. I will also add:
The homebrew section shows homebrew from everyone on the site that has chosen to publish. In order to add that to your Homebrew Collection for use on your own characters you need a Hero tier (or Master tier).
If you would then like to share public homebrew from your collection with your players you would need a Master tier subscription, and to enable content sharing in that campaign.
If you instead choose to create your own homebrew, your players will be able to add it to their characters as long as they are in your campaign and have homebrew enabled on the character.
Old thread, but I'm oddly having this issue with only one out of the four players in my campaign.
Created a homebrew item. Went into each of their inventories and was able to search for and find the item easily. For one of them, I search and the item doesnt seem to be there. No boxes are checked to limit whats returned or anything.

I was able to locate the armor I made while creating a character. My guess is a box is/isn't checked properly. Could still be a bug, though.
I'm having this issue as well, I don't see any options to check that I don't already have checked.

Exactly same problem here. Created my own demo item and a demo character. Cannot add the created demo item into the inventory of the character.
Ok I found the reason for this.

I am still having this problem, with or without a check in the Proficiency checkbox.

Addendum: the only thing I've changed was simply waiting for time to pass. The item was available to search with and without Proficiency.

I believe that this is necessary to be able to share homebrew that you have added to your collection.
Note - you do NOT need a subscription to share your own homebrew that you have created.

Yeah. I've got the 1 year subscription and everything in my campaigns is open for sharing to groups.
