But on the other hand, I can confirm that this is actually a thing, so sorry about that.

When attuned to the Blackstaff, you gain a +2 to all ability checks. Reading through its effects, I do not know where that is coming from.
Steps to reproduce:
Add and attune to the Blackstaff with any character.
OR Create a new magic item based on the Blackstaff. This will also show that it grants this bonus.

D&D Beyond FoundersHey folks, please take another look - it seems there was an issue with this item pulling in the powers of the staff of power.
