I'll add that it's changing dice rolls upon editing also now. For instance if you want to make a post about doing a a perception, then say casting depending on what the roll is. You make the check, then go in and add another roll, like guidance, or whatever, when it reloads the edit it changes the original roll.
If you keep editing it will change the roll every edit.
It doesn't seem to be doing that in the Super Yahtzee Thread. I just tried editing one of my rolls and it stayed the same. Or - it rolled a red 18 and after an edit it was still a red 18. Who knows if the individual numbers changed - the tooltips are still broken.
I think it may be if you add a roll tag in the edit before the original roll tag too
"With the snake finally dead, Esmee drops her bow and moves to Ed's side near the snake. She shrugs at his attempts to apologize and puts her hands on his largest wound and wills it heal. Cure Wounds3
Once she's done that she turns away and begins to inspect the snake, wondering why the hurt animal never tried to flee.

edit: I didn't change the dice rolls, I just added the roll for the cure wounds. :/"
She went on to say the original Nature roll was 22.
Yes, that too! If you add a roll in the post BEFORE an existing roll, then it changes the earlier one. But if you cut the new roll and paste it further down the post, everything changes back to the way it was.

Yea adding anything before a roll when you edit has been fraught with problems. Usually it will claim dice manipulation and cheating. As long as you make all your edits occur after the roll - it's usually fine with that.
Adding in text before a roll as an edit has always caused the dice manipulation flag.
This bug is different though - hovering over published dice rolls yielding the circle of doom so you can never know the actual result of the roll. (There is also, as flagged in another thread here, the totally broken search function.) I’m assuming this is a hard time to prioritize small bugs in a D&D website, but just wanted to clarify!
Hi. I like to keep initiative for everyone in my DM notes so I can copy and paste into a thread, among other reasons. This morning I saw that in every campaign all the numbers within the roll tag has been removed.
Public Mod Note
(MellieDM):
Merged to collected thread on roller issue.
This seems to be fixed now - but some rolls are broken as a result.
See roll number #26995 and #26996 on the yahtzee thread. The first shows a red 16 but the tooltip (and dice rolls) show a purple 21. The second shows a blue 18 but the tooltip shows a red 14.
I've been looking for more but haven't found any - so maybe that was an unrelated issue.
Can anyone tell me where to post a question about how to change the critical level of a combat roll, for example if you are using a weapon that crits on 15s or better?

Can confirm that this is still happening three weeks later.

Yeah, it's over 3 weeks now :(

I think if you add something within the original [ roll][ /roll] brackets, then it will change the original roll.

I don't have any problems inserting plain text before an existing roll. Just with inserting a new roll.

Correct! This is the "Circle of Doom" thread as you so elegantly said. Sorry I got us a little off track there :)

Any news on this? Very frustrating for PBM...
This got wiped out again. I put the formulas back in and they are wiped out again this morning.

Hurray! It works. Now to fix the search - and forum is back to it's full glory!
