I've created a new campaign and two of my players have added characters. I can see both of their sheets, but they cannot see each other's sheet from the Campaign screen. Is this by design or do we have some sort of privacy flag set somewhere preventing others from viewing the sheets?
Currently, that is by design, as many characters have data they may want to keep secret from other players. As we continue to build out campaign management tools and settings, we may build in a toggle for players to let them decide if they want to share that data with other payers in the campaign.
Thank you for the prompt reply! I know with this campaign group, my PCs would like to share most/all information about their characters with other players. So I hope that feature makes it in the development queue soon.
My team I am DM'ing would like this feature as well because they want to know how best to complement each other. A toggle would be wonderful. Thank you.
A limited view might work, i.e. Avatar, Attributes, Backstory? Maybe weapons and spell lists are optional? Either way, being able to look at some kind of landing page for the other members of your party would be a tremendous improvement.
I was going to bring a mysterious character to a campaign, but I don't want my mates to see even my class. It would be great, if the DM could change the privacy options for the campaign.
There is the option to share a sheet by generating a URL. The button is at the top, next to the short and long rest buttons.
The result is a URL like this one ( https://ddb.ac/characters/3037432/Hljhpd ) and it shows almost all of the information on the sheet. The only thing I don't see when viewing incognito is the Description and Notes tabs, which houses the background feature, characteristics, traits, and the allies/organizations/enemies/et cetera.
Having an issue were in my group I have all the books and Beyond subscription, and created the campaign we're using. Though the thing is, I'm not actually the one DM-ing the game. We each have trinkets in our 'Other Possessions' section, but the DM cannot see that information (though I can), even though we're all set to public. Obviously sharing your books with your group is the intention, but then why are a few things still not shown?
I think the idea is that some things folks still might want to keep private. But, in your situation, the solution is to have the DM create a campaign, then have all the players move their characters over to that campaign; when you move, turn on campaign sharing in that campaign. You can then deactivate sharing in the old campaign. The DM should always be the one to create the campaign (so they have full access to characters and to the DM notes), but they don’t need to be the one with the Master Tier subscription.
Wait, that's a thing!? For some reason I thought that didn't work, will give it a try shortly.
EDIT: Aha! That worked! I had 3 campaigns already so the option simply wasn't visible, deleted an old one and it showed up, problem solved; However, to shift back to topic more, I do still think toggles for what you want secret or not would be nice, not sure why notes and 'other possessions' in equipment are secret no matter what.
i too would like to know if this is running as players express an interest i others not seeing their backstories
If a character is set to "Private" no one except for that player or the DM of the campaign that player is in will be able to access the character sheet.
If a character is set to "Public" players in the campaign will be able to access the sheet, as will anyone with the share link. The notes and background sections are not visible, even if the sheet is set to public.

I am the Inquisitor Imperitus. I am judge, jury, and executioner. Draw your last breath now, as I send you to the Nine Hells.

+1
Adding my support for this
I'd really like to see this, I think character sheets should be public documents by default.

+1 for giving characters an option to make their character public or private.
I am of the opinion that my players should not see each other's sheets. Perhaps later there could also be a DM button to disable sharing
Hi, I would like to UP this topic.

Any updates here?

Same things. Scrolling through this thread hoping there is a way I can hide my class from my fellow PC's.
Hello,
So has this been updated?
If a player has their settings set to private will it keep their sheet hidden from the other PC's in the campaign?
Thanks in advance for the answer!
