I created a homebrew sorcerer class and added spells in the additional specific spells box. I made sure not to select anything in "Can Cast Spells" or "Knows All Spells," but the spells still won't show up when I create a character.
I can’t post a link to the homebrew because it says it can’t be shared. Nor can I post or upload a screen cap apparently, but I can tell you that Gust of Wind and Legend Lore (among others) appear as selectable options but not as automatically learned. Spells that sorcerers already have access to (like Chromatic Orb) even appear twice on the spell selection list.
What you're describing is correct. When a sorcerer subclass has access to additional spells, they still need to make the decision to learn them - they aren't automatically known.
If that's what you want to do, add a subclass feature that adds the spells in that way.

Post a link to character and homebrew.
Now it is showing the spells as available ( it wasn’t before) but not letting the character learn them automatically.
