When you create a spell that uses Spell Scaling and create an At Higher Levels - Additional Points, if you fill out extra dice, it does not applied the extra fixed value. If you leave extra dice blank, it applies the fixed value.
Reproduction Steps:
Create copy of Cure Wounds
Change Modifier - Bonus Hit Points to be 1d8 + 3 + Primary Stat
Change At Higher Levels - Bonus Hit Points (1d8+3) - Additional Points to be 1d8 + 1
Add spell to character sheet
Check higher levels of spell, note that while the d8 count increases, the + modifier does not.
Remove the 1d8 from At Higher Levels - Bonus Hit Points (1d8+3) - Additional Points.
Return to character sheet
Check higher levels of spell, note that the + modifier increases
Expected Result:
Both d8 and + modifier would increase when both are set.
Yes, I have the same problem. Recently, following advice I found here in the forums, I was trying to create homebrewed variants of the healing spells for life domain clerics, but I was unable to make it work, due to this issue.

Fixed modifier scaling is also screwy for subclass features suddenly too. I think it’s a bug from the last update. Of course, all of these updates are so they can make it work properly so....
Glad I found this post - I have been trying to do exactly this, and tearing my hair out that I could get the dice, or the modifier to scale, but not both. Disappointing, but glad to know I was doing it right, if not for the bug.
I actually found your homebrew spell while I was trying to figure out the same thing. Good to know I'm not alone. I finally realized the Spell Level feature is definitely broken and won't give you both die roll and fixed value at the same time. Learned a good deal about how Homebrew spells work though in the process.
I figured out a workaround though, I used the Spell Level scaling type and then just added the specific bonus for each level up to spell level 9. eg. spell level 2, dice roll: 2d8, fixed value: 4. spell level 3, dice roll 3d8, fixed value: 5. Double checked and this seems to give the desired roll at each level.

The only problem I still seem to be having is that Cure Wounds is not showing up in the Life Domain spell list as always prepared. This should be working if you select the subclass Life Domain in the available class field, but it's not working for Cure Wounds (it does for the other heal spells). Not a huge problem, but it means the spell takes up an extra prepare slot that it shouldn't be.
I am creating a homebrew spell who's damage scales by 1d6 at each character level from 1 to 20. The character I am creating it for is currently level 10, so 10d6 is the damage. I cannot get it to recognize the character level when scaling the damage. It's still showing up as 1d6 radiant damage at level 10. Can anyone help?
It is set up as a cantrip - the character is level 10 and the scaling is still not working. Showing up still as if it was level 1 & 1d6 radiant damage when it should be 10d6. Is there something I'm missing?
So, I believe that I did everything in that FAQ - I have saved it many times, I've tried the inspiration off and on, I've deleted the cantrip and then relearned it, switched characters, reloaded character sheet, etc. and it is still the same. The only thing i don't know is if the server has updated ? Or I have still messed something up. I'm not sure what to do next.

Can confirm - my homebrew spells that used to function in this way are now only increasing by the die, not the fixed value.

I Have noticed the same problem. Do we know if this problem exists with other platforms? I am fed up at this point.

Have you modified the life domain itself? I've made a home-brewed version with the modified spells and it seems to work.

Thanks for the info! I figured it was broken but it's good to get confirmation. I'm trying the spell level work around for now...
Has this never been solved? I am still running into it 3 years later.

You can only use character level for scaling on a cantrip, not a leveled spell.

You have to program the additional damage for every level 2nd through 20th. Did you do that?

I had not - But i have now created one for each level, and still showing only as 1d6 damage.
Did you re-save the whole spell after you added those? Please see the General Homebrew FAQ #s 6–6B: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). If you are still having problems post again and I’ll help you figure it out.

How exactly did you set up the higher level scaling at each of those levels?
