I'm getting the same bug. I selected Variant Human, and then tried to select any other character option (select a language, etc.) and after I've selected my option, I get the sync spinner on displaying on screen. Refreshing loads the page with the option selected, but the next option selection I make re-instantiates the spinner.
This also happens to me with other races, such as Dragonborn.
I'm on a Mac and getting this issue in all 3 of my browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
The same thing is happening for me, though it's happening on every browser. Whenever I try to edit my character by updating any field, the logo with the red spinner which I assume is a loading icon pops up. The rest of the page becomes uninteractible but the changes I entered are saved and editable upon a refresh. This happens consistently every time I change a field on any character.
I have the same issue- happened first on chrome, then on Microsoft edge. Every time I made a choice from a drop down menu option, it would pop up the red icon and the icon would remain at 100%. Only way past it was to refresh the page after each drop down choice.
I got this in chrome trying to create a new character and clicked on High Elf. I opened up dev tools and tried again to capture the error though can't insert the snapshot I took of it.
Error is to the effect of:

Same. In Both Microsoft Edge browser and Chrome. Select a character feature and the page locks like it's auto-saving content (DDB logo with spinning wheel on chrome and solid ring on edge)
I’m also having the same issue. Using Chrome and Safari on mobile/desktop/iPad. It seams only to effect race and class.
so far the only work around is resetting the page each time I pick a spell or making a selection. Very frustrating, especially seeing I just subscribed and it was working this pass weekend. =l
crashes for my human during character generation
select human,
name him
select a race- celestial
get big spinning wheel... doesn't stop
game over- can't click to go on

Spinning for me too. You can stop it by going to a different page and reopening the character but it then happens for class as well.
Someone pressed the big red button that says, "DO NOT PRESS!" above it.
