OH YES ! That would be great. Ror instance I was just trying to clarify the rules of cunning action for rouge. To help you understanding what I was looking for my question was: can I movement use 30' then use action to dash 30' and then cunning/bonus action dash another 30'. In this example, if I could just search Dash.... and find all the places it's mention I might find the answer/ or not but it would be helpfully for something like that.

She is a formidable one,” he said when Jarlaxle appeared at his side a moment later. “Dangerous and full of fire,” Jarlaxle agreed. “I might have to kill her.” “I might have to bed her.

Exactly... Say I want all references to gems whether they are in the compendium, material components for a spell, items, or monsters that eat or hoard them. Seems like there should be a search box where the "Welcome to the D&D beyond beta!" is now.

That does seem like the spot a Search Everything bar would go, doesn't it? ;)
Well met, Hartless. I am hoping your response indicates that at some time in the future that's what that real estate will be used for, or at least it's being considered.
Wholeheartedly agree. I found a OneNote file that an industrious individual created using all of the Basic/SRD material and the global search feature is the best thing about it.
I'm helpless without a site-wide search bar. I'll often type "cover" in a search bar instead of scanning the page for the link, as I can type faster than my eyes can locate.
If it's the sort that populates a list as you type (works without a page load) all the better!
Right now each section has search function but there is no way to search all content (across categories) for specific search terms.
by all content you mean Spells/monsters/items? I see what you mean. it would be nice to have a search bar that searches all the sections.
Hell yeah I am going to Polymorph the boss into a Rabbit. I have always wanted a being a pure evil stuffed into a ball of fluff.

That would make things faster if your looking for all the different rules for a specific thing and then it just links you to all the references.

This is sort of what this D&D Beyond project is all about. In OneNote, I can also continue to paste in great info that I come across.

I draw maps and upload them to 2-Minute Table Top 😊
Yeah, agreed a overall search should be available
I need it very much when I tried to find out about flanking.
there is no search bar in the compendium basic rules.
It's so hard to find rules...
Search all would be great, or at least a search on an index page... Also an index page on the compendium.

Looks like they have plans for a global search!
