So I have everything, the works if you will, for Beyond. I bought in right away and thought there was information about how I can create information and allow resources to my local group players, at least to a limited degree; such as accessing the character builder for their character?
Is this possible without their paying anything? What are the details regarding this query?
In order to share purchased content on DDB, you or one of your players must have a Master Tier subscription. With it, you or your player can enable the sharing on the campaign page.
No, Legendary Bundle gives you all the content, the Master Tier subscription unlocks more features for the toolset. Check here the Master Tier subscription.
I see. I do have the Master tier, so that would mean that my group can access the character builder? How do I share this or what is the deal with their account creation? Do they have to pa or can they access the builder with a free account because I have the Master tier?
They can be just free users. You can create a campaign page here, then you invite the players with the link provided. Then, you must check the box "Enable sharing" on the campaign you just created (on the top right of that page).
Once this is all set, your players can see and use all the content you have purchased.
I was hoping to get some clarification on this as well.
I currently have a Master Tier subscription, and I have purchased the 3 core books, as well as Xanathars and a few others. Am I to understand that in the two campaigns I run, since I have enabled content sharing on both campaigns, that my users can also access ALL of those books? They are not limited to the three core books exclusively but they are able to access Xanathars and whatever else I've purchased?
A second question - does this access (granted via their access to my campaigns) also then transfer to the mobile app? Will my players be allowed to download to the app the three core books to the app because they are members in my campaigns?
Thanks for any help you can provide, and for what it's worth.... I am really enjoying the service you guys are putting together. Though I would encourage you to change the campaign logging, that's kind of terrible.
Yes, anyone who has a character in a campaign that has enabled content sharing can access ALL books. And it's all books from all players. Meaning if player A has SCAG and player B has MToF, all other players will have access to those as well.
Our intent is for the mobile app to respect content sharing as well. I'm not certain that feature will be there on day one of the app store release, but it is our current goal to support that feature.
Is there a way (or a plan to include a way) to limit the content my players can see? If I'm running a published campaign, and have the book here, I'm not sure I want them to be able to just pop in and start reading the adventure.

Not at this point, but it is coming. For now you'll have to do it the old-fashioned way and ask/trust them not to read ahead, as they could do so in real life as well.
Careful, you'll be accused of calling your players cheaters if you ask for this feature like I was a few weeks ago. All kidding aside though, they have said that granular sharing is coming. I'm glad to see others interested in it as well. I went ahead and bought the books that heavily feature character creation, but won't buy any of the adventures I'm currently running or might run until I can limit the share to player options.
Also, please stop spoiler content from appearing in the search for these books in the form of context reveals for search terms. That's a big ask, I know, and I also know that search is still being worked on, but I want to repeat it as often as possible to help it get traction as a priority.

It's a totally reasonable request.
Granular permissions for sharing is definitely something that D&D Beyond needs.

News about "granular permission" for sharing content?
Would love to hear more about when the granular content sharing will be out. After pushing my group, many of whom had DDB accounts, to get a master tier account so we could message and share content, my DM finally did. He also went and bought the digital version of Forge of Fury, our current adventure. The link was sent out and we were all excited because I owned most of the player books like PHB, Sword Coast, and Xanathars .
We were shocked to learn that turning on content sharing meant we could see Tomb of Fury and then to read the forums and learn about all of the issues with sharing like ‘searching’.
I assume the expectation here are fairly obvious. A DM doesn’t want to share the adventure content but likely does want to share things like Items, spells, backgrounds and maybe even monsters. HAving said that it might be nice for each account holder/ content owner should be able to choose what to share or not share. Some DM’s maybe don’t want the Monsters shared, other maybe don’t care if folks look them up so long as it doesn’t affect their role playing.
Right now we’re in a bit of a pickle and have simply turned off content sharing. Any word on when granular content sharing will be available?
It's on the road map, but not implemented at this time. Just as in real life you would not be able to stop your player from flipping through the book at a game store, you'll need to trust that your players aren't that kind of *******.

I have the Legendary Bundle, does this not afford me the Master Tier?

I am the Inquisitor Imperitus. I am judge, jury, and executioner. Draw your last breath now, as I send you to the Nine Hells.
Thanks very much! Greatly appreciate the quick response.

I too would greatly love to limit which content is shared.
Do you have an expected quarter on when this feature will be available?
Thanks!
I started playing D&D in February 2017.
My first DM was my Brother-in-law. He was the one who brought to the table the thought of playing D&D.
I take inspiration from Matt Mercer, DM for Critical Roll.
Started DM'ing and building my first campaign in February of 2018
Started on Tomb of annihilation with five players

When creating a campaign, open that campaign's page and on the top left there is the toggle for the sharing.
ONly the owners of the Master Tier Subscription can do that,

I'm surprised something hasn't happened yet on this front. Just got Waterdeep and would love to limit what folks can see via content sharing.
