I think I heard someone ask about this but I'm unsure I was wondering if we will be able to have a new dm in a campaign. I bought all the books and I typically dm but if one of my friends wants to do so will we be ever to without him having to buy all the books too.
by default, the current campaign solution considers the person who CREATES the campaign as the DM. It will be possible in the future to change who the DM is in an existing campaign.
Here's the good news though - you don't have to be the DM or the campaign owner to join a campaign and share your content, if you have a Master Tier subscription. You can join as a player and hit that "enable content sharing" button and everyone in the campaign will have access to unlocked content from the other members.
You or your friend must have the Master Tier subscription to shared the purchased content. Once one of you has it, your friend can create a campaign as the DM. The owner of the Master Tier subscription can then enable the content sharing on the campaign page.
Good to know that we can transfer power of the DM to someone else in the future. I own the content and wanted a younger player to run a campaign and he cannot View any of the other player's characters. We can see the content, but we still have to print out / maintain written sheets. Or maybe roll better on my persuasion dice to get him to create a campaign...
Awesome toolset though... can't wait for bigger and better things...
+1 for being able to transfer DM-ship of campaigns!
I've got one campaign stalled out due to the DM not having the time, and it would be cool if they at least had the option to consider passing the torch on.
I have another (not on DNDB)campaign with a very active DM, but I'd like to be able to set up something here, invite everyone, and pass it over to our DM to lighten his workload, as we currently have two parties in a massive dungeon, with a third forming.

Yeah, I know that was a long sentence., and this is an old thread, but the last update to the campaign creation post looks to have been about 6 hours ago: https://dndbeyond.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010423647-Campaign-Management.
