I wanted to turn The List of Things Mr. Welch is No Longer Allowed to Do in An RPG into a homebrew magical artifact. However, even after reducing the list down to only Dungeons & Dragons-related entries, it's still absurdly long.
To rectify this, I thought to make public the 22-page Google Document in which I keep the truncated list, and insert a link to the document in the item description so just looking at the Details Page doesn't annihilate the viewer's computer.
Problem is, I believe this to be in violation of the "No linking to other websites" rule. Can someone tell me if it is a definite rules violation, and if so provide an alternative solution?
You are correct, there is a strict ZERO linking to other websites policy for published homebrew - you're welcome to do this for your own use within a campaign you are part of, just don't hit publish on the item.
I recommend though that a 22 page document of content doesn't sound appropriate for a single magical item.
The idea behind the item was that you could read one entry from the list aloud, and in doing so, you would be bestowed something that the list denied Mr. Welch. If I were to reduce the list to a manageable size that doesn't need an entire Google Doc, I should know: Is there a maximum limit to how much text you can put in the description box of an item?
