I love the page, it simple to use and quite intuitive.
Gripe:
When I expand a spell it shows all the extra detail, but for certain things like the Details/Effects it would be nice if they were clickable links to descriptions of that effect. (If I can't remember how blind works for example) This holds true for other details as well such as school / range / etc.
Someone probably already said this, but I didn't want to dig through the whole listing, forgive me for my laziness :P. I had a very small issue with the spell list: When I make them listed by level instead of name but then add a specification (healing, damage, etc.) it goes back to being by name, if there isn't a way to set it to permanently being by level, or just having it remember how it was listed before, it would be a small but convenient addition.
You raise a good point but yes, it has been flagged before - there are a series of small issues when changing the order of the listings, that one included. The developers are aware and planning to fix it.
It would be awesome if the spells were formatted like spell cards so we could print our own and add them to our decks.
Also, being able to create a custom spell list by copying an existing list, so characters that are granted spells from other lists by a DM can just copy a list and add spells from other classes to it.
With filters, it would be nice to have an "and/or" feature so you can find combinations of things.
I do love the idea of the spellbook feature...I imagine visual slots and spells that can fill them...but I assume that would be a part of character builder.
I also agree with the dynamic filter idea...select adulterous and it auto filters without another button to press. To add to that, it would be nice to have the option to view everything on one page. I know that is a lot to scroll through, but that is what filters are for!
That is it for now. Thanks again for the opportunity to provide feedback!!
I'm really fond of the spell list at the moment. That the spells are all drop-down is fantastic. It's so much better than having to open up single spells at a time, or having tons of simultaneous tabs. The spell book creation thing I saw seems like exactly what I want too. Would give me, and my players, such an amazing resource. I am concerned that spell names aren't identical to the Player's Handbook though. Arcane Sword is missing its traditional reference to Mordenkainen. This could lead to confusion, and I'm curios why you wrote them differently. Will all signature spells be given generic names? If so, wouldn't this be not as fun as keeping the historical references to past creators?
The only content in the beta comes from the free SRD - what that means in this regard is that the spell names also match the SRD, not the PHB. For more information check out the latest thread in the Announcements section called 'The Week After'.
1. Make it so you can set how many results are displayed per page. I'd prefer to have all results on one page instead of 3, 4 or even 16 different pages. By the same token, its a hassle to get to page 12 from page 1 without clicking on multiple pages to get there first.
2. Allow it to save preferences between uses, such as how its sorted, if advanced filters is open, or the previously mentioned results per page.
3. Let you select spells so you can compare them side by side, or at least add them to a list or open in a new tab.
4. Make it so you can select multiple entries in a drop drop menu, such as by holding ctrl when you select them instead of having to click the same menu multiple times.
5. It looks like it might be a work progress, since some spells show the Blinded condition when you hover over them, but this would be fantastic for other conditions like petrified, as well as being able to hover over or link to a spell or magic item when they are listed, such as when Prismatic Wall references Rod of Cancellation or Dispel Magic.
So far a great product. I'm looking forward to phase two.
I also admire your patience. This thread would be half the length if people would just read SRD content only before posting.
Hi, I used the(Cleric) spell list last saturday ;during my first d&d 5th ed game. I can say that was very useful. My tough ? Maybe use another color code or something to identify ;faster the level & type of spells.
Not sure if it was mentioned but it would also be nice to have all the spells listed on one page as an option. I get that if it did that every time then reload times would be awful, but it should be a toggle.
As an example, I am leading level 2 Wizard, Ranger, and Druid. So when I am DMing it would be great to see all of their possible spells (lvl 1 and cantrips) on one page. Thus my "searching" for a spell consists of scrolling up and down a single page instead of typing it in every time or having to navigate to page 2 or 3 to find it.
I too am very impressed with the summary view of the spells in the list.
My main feature request is similar to nmajor3, a printable spellbook. I like to really spread out my PHB, character sheet, and spell lists while playing, referencing multiple sheets at the same time. I also can't really see myself playing a whole session with a tablet or my phone (to save battery life, if nothing else). I love the organization capabilities I'm seeing here, so if I can get it onto paper, I will be a happy camper.
Other than that, I'm just looking forward to the Subclass specification, and the character builder!

Thanks for the reply... A bit sad I missed a thread from yesterday.
Hi VeganLoser, welcome to the forums!
The only spells and content listed in the beta are from the SRD. Unfortunately Smite is not one of them.

Will there be a way to sort through spell by the school of magic?
You already can! :)

Dissonant Whispers doesn't seem to be listed in any of the spell lists
Hey FatherFlint,
Only content from the free SRD is available on DnD Beyond beta. Dissonant Whispers will be available at release with the rest of the official content.

The incorporation of spell tags are awesome. Thank you. It will make spell selection easier for the new guys.
A few suggestions:
