The person I'm replying to literally suggested that DDB "look at how google drive is set up" and I was pointing out they can't just do that, they have to develop their own solution to the requirements.
Before calling someone out, maybe read back a little bit and get the full scope of what's being said
The latest I saw was that now that there is a dedicated team assigned to the app, they actually plan to have a separate Character app from the current Compendium app. I guess it isn't feasible to have one giant app do everything.
Is there any update on viewing characters via an app?

Started playing in the 80s, when 2nd Edition was just coming out. Been away for a while, but I'm looking to get back into it. I'd love an online game on the weekend, or an in-person if you're in Eugene.
A Good idea for that would be to have it like Google Docs. you can save it offline, and then when you have wifi back then it syncs. Or you can keep it purely on the net.
July, 2020. I have a subscription, have four characters, got the app on my iPhone, and can’t see any of the characters. Erased the app, downloaded again. Logged out, logged in, can see the characters on web browser of iPhone, but not on app. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Because the coding solution for one system is not necessarily the answer for another.
Yeah and half in and this feature has still not been added, I would have expected it to be a pretty critical feature to have on the app.
It's the one thing stopping me from going all in with a subscription

In the latest dev update Adam said it had gone into internal alpha

Oof. A two year old issue and still nothing.
Firstly, it's not an issue. The character sheet app has been in development for a while, that's true, but it's not a bug.
Secondly, 'still nothing' is inaccurate; the app is in internal alpha and going into closed alpha.

Two years and still can't have my character sheet in an app...smh
You're in the wrong app then, friend. You need to install the D&D Beyond Player app
ah. thanks!
So stupid. Makes 0 sense to not make this the 1st part of the app
See above - the Player's app works just fine. Do you have specific issues or feature requests that could be addressed?
I can’t view my character sheet in the dnd beyond app when I tap on my character.
