So is it possible to get a refund for the 2014 rulebook purchases? Or an option to receive a free physical copy.
I totally understand the idea that new content will be promoted and supported. And eventually the new system will replace the old system.
But to remove access to things that we purchased seems borderline criminal (in addition to being blatantly greedy and inconsiderate).
You created a product - that product is a book and there is a digital version of that book which is promoted and is the preferred product you want to sell (obviously - it has no physical cost for reproduction - all publishers are doing this). This is NOT the subscription that people purchase. These are one time purchases above and beyond the subscription.
If it were merely limiting subscription material to the new 2024 rule system that would be fine (greedy, but but not technically wrong). People are still going to play the legacy 5e system, and they should be able to use the products (not subscription) products that they purchased. If anything there are thousands of people in current campaigns using the legacy 5e rulesets, items, and spells.
So. Any chance of a refund?
