I don't want anything to do with these new rules. Is there anyway to make my D&D character creator the way it was? Like, regular 5e rules/classes/races? This new crap sucks. D&D was fine the way it was.
I canceled might subscription as well. What dnd beyond should’ve done was create an entire new web site for 5.5 instead of this Frankenstein mess that is no longer useful at my table. Lost another one, and I hope it hits them in the loss of subs, because that’s all they understand.
I totally agree, and it would seem like such an easy option to implement, since they've already got all the programming/code from the previous 5e version. What I "think", is that they're trying to force players into the new 2024 version to facilitate us buying new books, even though apparently the new PHB (which is a piece of shit, IMO) is free. That's just the gateway, though. Once they've got us defeated and succumbing to the new rule set, they've got an entire library of new material to sell us. And hey! I get it. D&D is a business and they have to make money to continue being one. But GIVE US THE CHOICE!!! Hasbro has already demonstrated how absolutely shady, immoral, and profit centric/customer dismissive they are when they tried to sodomize the independent content creators last year by attempting to revoke the OGL license. Then, as now, the only way to stop them is to cancel our subscriptions... which as I mentioned above, I've already done.
Edit: Oh, wait! The new PHB is NOT free. I just checked. D&D Beyond, you unscrupulous, money grubbing imbeciles. When will you get it??? If you screw over your customers for profit, you will HAVE NO CUSTOMERS!!! Ugh...
Havent canceled... yet, till my subscription ends as still during moveover process... i checked. And there are alternatives. And also i would say cheaper ones since single item market been shut down.
My yearly subscription had recently renewed, (without my approval, by the way), so after I cancelled yesterday, I emailed D&D Beyond support to see if I can get a prorated refund, given that their current 2024 online platform is utterly useless to me. So far the only response I've gotten was a warning telling me not to use profanity.
I cancelled months ago, wizbro has done nothing but make me wish I could cancel more than once. They won't even let me sell my account to someone that would like to have it. SMH I guess I will have to write it off and wait for the next IP holder and hope the care about the game as much as wizbro cares about profits.

i mean the auto renew is kind of the point of a subsctiption no?
be patiennt with customer support, they have been swamped. But whatever you do don't submit a second ticket as it will move you to the back of the queue for some reason
Their utter disdain for their customers is THE REASON their customer support is swamped, but that's good advice about not submitting a second ticket. I didn't know that about getting put to the back of the line if you resubmit. Thanks, Bart!

It was good journey dndbeyond.
Thank you

What are some alternatives? I have a lot of the last 10 years saved here and would want the switch to be as painless as possible. My group uses Roll20 for our battlemaps but we find its character creator lacking and I own much less content there.
It will come as a shock to absolutely no one that I still haven't gotten a response from D&D Beyond asking for a pro-rated refund after cancelling my subscription.

Unfortunately not, and it's infuriating and completely unacceptable.
There are several posts asking for a "disable 2024 completely" option, which is honestly the only way I can imagine still be using this software.
Yeah, I figured as much. That's why I just cancelled my subscription. That's the only thing they listen to: money.

They definitely need an option to switch between one, the other, or both.
And they need spell and feat options to indicate which book they came from in the name when you select them.
As things stand this app is all but unusable.

I guarantee you they don't care, until you cancel.
