I’m a new player and for a campaign I’m creating a character sheet for the first time and I’m using the players handbook as a guide but I’ve gotten stuck because I chose a paladin with the guard background but I can’t find where the tool proficiency is? As in I found the background but it just says “Choose one kind of gaming set” and I looked in chapter 6 but I couldn’t find anything?

The 2024 Player's Handbook lists four different gaming sets, which can be found in the "Other Tools" section of the chapter on Equipment. It's in the digital version here or on page 221 in the print version.
