So I have been struggling with character creation because for some reason when I click on "backgrounds/origin" it only shows me stuff like acolyte, criminal, soldier, and sage. All of the other backgrounds in the Players Handbook do not appear as options. I already purchased the PHB so I'm not sure why this is happening. Do I need to change something in the settings after purchasing the PHB? Help would be much appreciated!

It says that it is in sync. I am able to read the PHB on DDB and I have it downloaded. However I own it because someone in my campaign owns it as well; i never actually bought it. Could that be the problem? (thx for your help btw)

Yes! If they're the one who owns it, you don't own it, you have access to it. Your characters will only have access to the options within while in a campaign with that person. They can either host the campaign or also have a character in it, and someone with a Master tier subscription must enable content sharing within it.

Make sure your entitlements are in sync.
