The "Maverick Spells" feature is janky as heck, requiring you to choose an option based on Prof. bonus and only then allowing you to choose your spells and forcing you to update it manually every time your Prof. bonus increases instead of doing it automatically. Don't get me started on the "Arcane Prototype" feature, which while I can understand how it can be kind of hard to program, it can still be done in a much smoother way. At the very least, it should not give you all of the options from level 3 up to level 20 at level 3, and you definitely shouldn't be able to all of the different level-based varients at the same time. Finally, correct me if I'm wrong, but the alternate capstone features for the artificer class that Exploring Eberron added weren't integrated at all, I only discovered thet they exsist from reading the book.
All in all, this entire deal reaks of laziness and sloppy work, like they tried to finish the work as soon as possible and didn't put any actual consideration into how to make this subclass work in the character builder. Either that or it was done by some random intern with no idea on how to use the subclass creator.
Hello there,
Will there be an update to make the Maverick subclass actually function on the site? As it stands the Arcane charge stuff just doesn't work at all.
Agreed.
