Why is the default setting to not show 'Partnered Content' on the website? At least for backgrounds and feats. But when it comes to species, you do show them. If I didn't want to see the content, I wouldn't have bought 3rd party books

Check your character settings. My default is to show all 3rd party content.

They're talking about the various screens under "Rules" that show filterable lists of all the feats, spells, backgrounds, species, etc. Most of these screens have a "Partnered Content = No" filter applied by default. The Class and Species ones don't, because they have a whole different display paradigm that doesn't include the same filter widget.

Check your character settings. My default is to show all 3rd party content.
On this page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters click "Settings" in the top right.
