I think at this point DnDBeyond has amassed a very large community. Many of whom play or would like to play D&D. Would it be possible to give special attention to Looking for Group and/or Looking for Players Forums?
Rather than just a traditional forum make it like you would homebrew content. Searchable by various tags (ie, AL, specific adventures people are running ie Curse of Stradh, times of play (ie one player looking for group from 9:00pm - 12:00am Mountain Time, another group looking to find players that first 5:00pm-9:00pm GMT, etc). Even make it more specific looking to join with Wizard (link character sheet to the application, and if accepted auto joins the campaign), looking for Cleric (submit a character you've made up that matches the requirements). Let people apply to groups. Selectable filters on how the group plays (in-person?, city? (if so name of city, country, state), online discord, skype, twitch, etc). Maybe every campaign gets an auto-generated twitch channel that's "ready to go" for online play?
Roll20 does some of this (not very well mind you in my opinion) but I think DnDBeyond could do this very very well. Plus it would yield a wealth of data for who knows what purpose!
I'm just saying, it's great having a million + characters on DnDBeyond.com, let's get more of them playing with each other! What better way than putting tools in front of us that help us connect easy and fast.
Sincerely,
Envaris
