So I have bene thinking about how to make languages more relevant to the player and the DM. I think a feature for the campaign would be to be able to update (or create from a template) a letter/partment/scroll/note etc with text and then in that note mark a language to it fx Elvish. then post that to the party. On the character sheet there should be a section for notes in inventory that it should show up and a player can click it. If the player has the language he will be able to read it if not then it would be gibberish (that would be the second part that you should upload or make form a template).
thats great but why not implement something so we can use them. if I write something in that langue and give that to the player how will he read it. I could have him translate it letter by letter but for new players that really isn't fun. it would be better to have something in the players sheet where it prompt up and he can read it and it would translate it automatically. if someone tries to read it not knowing the language it would be just gibberish
So what you want is for something to say "message in draconic" to some people and "message in draconic: 'secret message'" to others.
Just do that then. Players are going to share information anyway. DMs have total control over what players know, I don't see what actual use this feature would have. And this sounds more like something you would do on a virtual tabletop anyway.
well its find that you don't get it but this has use imo. as far as virtualtabletop this is actually what the whole system is. it can be used for both or do you print out everything ? inventory notes that are handed out to the party should be in the inventory and should be listed so they can see if they have that note. I could print it out to them but the goal for this service is t have all the needs for a DM , encounter creator loot creator, initiative list and even maps down the line.
No need to be hostile and accuse people of 'not getting it', DxJxC has a point though. This is a niche feature that belongs in a VTT rather than a toolset like D&D beyond. It's a prop feature, such as map drawing. If you want to be able to show your players messages in draconic, download a draconic font package and write the note yourself. This really doesn't fit within the scope of D&D beyond.
I am certainly not hostile so I would like you to retract that remark. I am simply arguing the point that this is only VTT and that I do think the argument are a bit narrow in scope. I respect the dont' agree with me and we don't have to agree but I still think there is use for this because dndbeyond is the D&D tools in your pocket when the mobile app gets more sufficient and this feature will have its place then.
I'm gonna disagree, this is an incredibly narrow and niche feature and D&D Beyond is not a VTT. Honestly, just download some font packages for free and you'll be able to do this super quick

There actually is an alphabet for all the base languages in one of the books.
If I find it again, I'll post it.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/phb/personality-and-background#Languages Has the charts for different languages.
Loex - A Lizardfolk Lvl 4/6/4 Hexblade Profane Blood Hunter/ Battlesmith Artificer/ Cleric of the Forge
Arborea - A Warforged Lvl 1 Hexblade Warlock
DM - "Malign Intelligence"
