Since wenare talking about WOTC and Hasbro at a wider angle, they possibly couldn't care less about this request. As long as they get their subscription money they wont move single finger
Chance of this being fixed before 2030? As everyone has pointed out, the functionality for weights and costs to be decimals exists in normal items. I would just like either an explicit answer on why it can't (or won't) be done quickly, or an update
Was trying to set the cost override of an item in my character sheet and it's not allowing decimals... Came across this one, not sure how bug fixes are prioritized but figure I'll add my voice to the crowd - looking for a fix here please!
Adding to this, can't believe this isn't fixed and it's six years old. What the hell is going on team? My players already struggle to add items to their packs without my input and now I'm finding that every single custom crafted arrow or picked up trinket either has no value and weight or a minimum of a full pound and full GP cost. Why even call it an "Override" when we can't override a minimum of 1???
I see that there is a thread for this in the feedback section, which I have bumped.
This is however, a bug, or at least, a misidentification. You cannot call something an "Override" if we cannot actually override with custom values. It's also a ridiculously ignored subject, having been posted SIX YEARS ago. Surely the Master tier fees for a single user could pay a single developer to fix this. It's ridiculously out of touch with WOTC's current position that DDB VTT be used as the primary VTT for D&D players when such an incredibly basic feature is not in place at all.
Players are encouraged to pick up and interact with objects. The new rules include a whole host of crafting rules for getting more use out of tool proficiencies, but if a player crafts anything worth less than a gold (For example, 5 SP, or say, 30 CP) or weighs less than a pound it's either valueless and weightless (Not great for encumbrance rule users like my table) or it has a full gold or pound weight where it otherwise wouldn't.
With the encouragement by WOTC to let players create items, these need to be added as custom items on the fly, so going out of my way to create a whole new magic item just on the off chance that the rogue might put poison on their arrows (which would either then be expended or simply have the poison wear off) is ridiculous. A character with the trait supplied by VRGtR "I compulsively seek to collect trophies of my travels and victories." picking up an interesting but mechanically void item (In my table's case, a toy from the children's nursery in The House of Lament) either amasses a large collection of surprisingly valuable and heavy junk or simply gets to let it pile up in their inventory without any encumbrance rules coming in to play at all.
This needs to be fixed. It is utterly insane to think that it hasn't been, despite the "Feedback" thread being consistently bumped for 6 years. Fix it already. It's been more than long enough.
We still can't add a GP value to anything? Why even have the Cost section?

Impossible to even consider a DDBeyond VTT with this nonsense. Every other VTT can manage this. Insane.

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Still hasn’t been fixed. It’s already 2025 guys, what are you doing?
At this point, the decimlas in weight and cost is like coconut png for TF2. If it will be changed then whole website will die.
even after the new edition of dnd they never got around to fixing this?
The updated edition had no effect on custom items whatsoever.

Watch for the rebuilt engine later this year. If they're ever going to fix smaller issues like this, it would be during the release of that.
