When I try to create custom Items, I am only able to use whole number values for Weight in lbs and Cost in GP. Often, the Costom items I am trying to pick up are worth less that 1 gp, or weigh less that 1lb individually. This seems to be a field restriction on that form, and not a limitation of the varriable itself. Many items, like pitons, have a weight less than 1lb (.25lb) or a cost less than 1GP (.05gp). I would like to be able to pick up similar small items from the environment, without having to go through the process of creating a Homebrew magic item just to have something weigh less than 1lb. This would make things easier on my DM as well.
We play with encumberance, so weight is important. If I pick up 10 things that each would have weighed 0.5lbs each that is a whole 5lbs not being tracked on my character sheet. Given that rogues with sticky fingers is a fairly normal occurrence in DnD, it would be nice if custom Items supported that extra detail ofof decim places instead of just whole numbers.

This feels like it would be a simple change to the calculations, shouldn't break any of it being a float rather than an integer. The items in the books often have 0.5lbs so it looks like the input field just needs to accept the decimal.
This change should not have needed to be suggested. Items rarely have a whole number weight. This should have been allowed when the service was created.
I also find it very frustrating that I can't add decimals value to custom items when other items from the books have such weight. I second that this is probably a simple fix by using a float value.
I just discovered this problem still exists (3/1/2021) - I would love to be able to access a feature like this, especially since it seems so simple to fix. Just adding my voice to the void.

Agreed. I would like this to be fixed.
I also would like this fixed. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to have custom items with weights that are fractions of pounds
Is this so hard to fix? We really need this for small items.

Gonna add my voice to this. Though perhaps they will correct it with inventory management update. Would be nice to be able to organise items better.
Would also appreciate this getting fixed.
I'm shocked to see this problem. We've just come across this and now we are stuck. Please get this fixed DDB!

Also adding my agreement to this.
This is still an issue.

Still an issue as of 2020-11-08. Would like this to be fixed. Seems like a super easy fix as the system supports it already. Just fix the fields.

Skolson Demjon - Cleric/Fighter
Would like this fixed too as it can really throw the throw the encumbering weight. Should just be a switch from int value to float.
I would like to add my voice to getting this fixed.
I would like to add my voice to this thread! It should be fairly easy to allow decimal weights in the custom override section.

At this point it's quite ridiculous. This thread exists for over two years and hasn't been acknowledged once.

It has been acknowledged. They acknowledged it by putting a bright magenta [Request] tag at the top of it.
