Thanks for contacting D&D Beyond Customer Service for help with your Homebrew content! We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the delay in our response. The recent surge in inquiries has resulted in a backlog that has impacted our response times. Please be assured that your message holds significant importance to us, and we are committed to addressing all inquiries with the utmost urgency. Thank you for your understanding.
While D&D Beyond offers numerous ways to help you understand how to play Dungeons & Dragons, we do not offer support for Homebrew tool questions. With that said, you have the ability to add actions to homebrew items when creating or editing them. This includes defining specific actions, such as bonus actions, reactions, or other types of actions, along with setting conditions or limited uses.
For further guidance, you may refer to the forum discussion or thegeneral guide on homebrewing available on D&D Beyond. These resources are designed to assist you in navigating the process smoothly and effectively.
Additional information about Dungeon & Dragons rules can be found in our Help Center article on Dungeons & Dragons including a link to our Basic Rules and Sage Advice.

The development on D&D Beyond definitely seemed to stagnate when Hasbro/WOTC gobbled them up. With what happened with Sigil and now more of the long-time creators leaving, it really looks close to a fire sale. I really wish this had stayed as an independent partner. I have little to no faith that major improvements will be made. Hopefully it at least retains its current functionality without a price increase. WOTC is not known for its great decision making when it comes to their digital platforms.
Jup. I would almost go as far as to recommend anyone to be ready to fully ditch DnDbeyond asap. I've been preparing my own little environment for a while now so it won't be a huge loss for me. But the impact on my players will be too large.
To be kind, that is a support staff who may not have looked to deep into the question/the question may not have been phrased in the most clear way.
I find the most upsetting thing to be that a service I have paid for for such a long time simply refuses to add this feature we have asked for for literal years while instead adding features we don't care for (and then axing them)

WE LITERALLY DON'T that's why this thread's been going for six years 🫠
it isn't, there are also oficial items that are not suported because of this so i doubt they are willingly holding this back. it's more likely that it's way more colicated than it seems. 9given how long they have been working on a general feature system to handle al of this.

Aka, no real response, just boiler plate from support. Which makes sense from their perspective, but still sad to see.

Reading through this thread was certainly an experience lol. Oh well, guess I'll do it manually or try to work around it with a homebrew spell...
Wow, this thread is depressing to see still not resolved.
Seems intentional.
