As much as I would love to see this working, I'm skeptical it will ever actually be implemented since it's been "planned" for years, no shade on the developers and programmers but the upper management doesn't seem to be committed to making the site what the community needs it to be (though it works better than the app)
Just dipped my toes into creating magic items, and already bumped up against this problem. It seems the only integration is for a +1 perception bonus and not actually interacting with any of your items.
I'm getting fed up with digital dice and worthless mechanics. We even need community table tops to use with dndbeyond since there is no VTT for this site. I don't think it's too much to ask for simply an update on this topic. Why are the moderators silent here?
As I posted before but a moderator seems to have stealth deleted it.
I have moved towards self-hosting all the data found in my books in a local Obsidian vault. The nice part is that it's 100% legal as I own the books and only host that content (and my own homebrew) within it.
More flexibility, with all the features I would want (and if it's truly missing, I can simply code it up myself)
I'm here to add to the pile, want to create "Baldurian" weapons that use the BG3 Weapon Actions... and can't. I can make it happen on Avrae cause I know how to code the bot, but I wanted to make this easier for my players. Guess I will have to attach them as homebrew spells instead...

A roadmap that isn't shared with us. Just sharing the roadmap with some form of a plan on when we could expect this to be made (or to show what DNDbeyond IS focusing on, would be nice)
Even in a world where they have a lot of technical debt (which I believe they did have at least). It's very fixable, especially considering there are other ways to achieve similar results already in the code base. (feats)
Based on all the small things that I see are missing from DNDbeyond at this point my belief is that they will exclusively add things that they need/use to build the official items. Simply adding things, or redesigning some of their code base from the ground up to support a larger degree of freedom is not worth it. As If too much freedom is given, why would people still purchase the sourcebooks? (homebrew being free and all)
Such as letting us build our own homebrew class from the ground up (that also comes with its own design issues of course)
I don't think it's so much a case of "can they fix it?" so much as whether they're actually motivated to. I've begun to suspect that WotC is deliberately ignoring homebrew in favour of selling us new books that they didn't bother to playtest (or hire actual artists to make).

hmmm... not there after 4 Years...
The waiting continues....
Indeed it does.

Any updates?
This would really be beneficial to have :)

I would appreciate this feature too.
This being years old thread with no follow-up, when original answer was "It's planned" is a disappointment.
It's on the roadmap :)

Ok has there been any new information on this topic since 2021?
Last I heard back in ‘22 they were working on it,” but as you can see they haven’t gotten very far.
Creating Epic Boons on DDB
DDB Buyers' Guide
Hardcovers, DDB & You
Content Troubleshooting
Is this really that difficult to implement?
Hope they get to it soon.
I didn’t see what you did there.

Comin up on 5 years, huh...
Almost five years now.
